The Richard Dolan Show: Breaking News on AATIP (Pentagon's UFO program)

This episode of the Richard Dolan Show aired on KGRA radio April 30, 2018. The first hour is concerned with recent claims that the Pentagon's UFO program known as Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP) may in fact have gone under another name as well: Advanced Aerospace Weapons Systems Application Program (AAWSAP). It seems the study of UFOs is nothing without some controversy. Richard interviews two guests, first Chase Kloetzke, who has interviewed Luis Elizondo twice and provides her insights. Second, he interviews Australian researcher Paul Dean, who has concluded that AAWSAP is indeed related to AATIP. During the second half of the program, Richard discusses the implications of these developments as well as examining some darker implications of the strange phenomena of our world, drawing mainly from research of David Paulides and Whitley Strieber. Listen live to the Richard Dolan show every Monday from 8-10 p.m. Eastern at http://kgraradio.com Visit Richard Dolan's members' site at http://richarddolanmembers.com See the books published by Richard Dolan and his authors at http://richarddolanpress.com
Published by Richard Dolan's YouTube channel, 2nd of May 2018, under the heading:

"Richard Dolan Show April 30 2018. AATIP or AAWSAP?" Duration; 1:45:23.

Why does it matter if the name of the Pentagon UFO program is "Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP)" - as reported by the New York Times on the 16th of December 2017 - or "Advanced Aerospace Weapons Systems Application Program (AAWSAP)"? And is there any important reason(s) why the AAWSAP title has not been known until now? Those and other questions is discussed in the first hour of this episode of The Richard Dolan Show (a podcast).

If I have understood the matter correctly, it was UFO researchers Paul Dean and Roger Glassel who independently came over the name/title AAWSAP in connection to their research in aspects of the AATIP.

Paul Dean is a guest in this episode of Richard Dolan's podcast, and Dean and Dolan discuss the "is AAWSAP = AATIP?" issue around the 28 minutes mark. Paul Dean mentions Roger Glassel's findings in the issue, and you can read what Glassel has discovered on the "AAWSAP = AATIP?" in the links below to the Blue Blurry Lines blog.

The interview with Paul Dean ends at 55:30 minutes. Then, at the 59:30 minute mark, Richard Dolan reflects on what has been said in the episode so far about the "AAWSAP = AATIP?"

Perhaps the most interesting part of this episode of the Richard Dolan Show starts at 1 hour and 6 minutes and lasts to the end of the episode. The subject is what Dolan calls the "dark and disturbing" aspect of the UFO phenomena. Dolans discusses some of the most "inexplicable" cases of encounters of the third and fourth kind (abductions). Dolan grounds his discussion and reflections on the abduction aspect of the UFO phenomena mainly on the works and research by David Paulides and Whitley Strieber. Richard Dolan also mentions an interesting conversation he had with Dr Hal Puthoff on remote viewing and free will.

I will not comment on the discussions and content in this episode of The Richard Dolan Show, except for what Richard Dolan is saying with the start around 1 h: 6 min. and ending around 1 h: 09 min: 23 s. I think what Dolan is saying in that segment of his show about the field of UFO research is wise and important. I agree with Dolan when he says something in the words of that the UFO phenomena/subject is very complex and therefore needs multiple perspectives to study it from.

In another place on this blog, I have said that I consider myself to have a quiet "conservative" perspective on the UFO phenomena. I am conservative regarding what the existing and publicly known evidence shows and tells us about the UFO phenomena. That is, that the physical aspect of the UFO phenomenon is real, is validated by an overwhelming amount of evidence. We are considering the quantity rather than the quality of the evidence. But in my world, the existing and publicly known evidence, or data, cannot with high certainty tell us anything else about the UFO phenomena.

With that said, I believe other aspects of the UFO phenomena are as interesting and important to study as the physical one (the "nuts and bolts" perspective/aspect). I also believe that studying the encounter and abduction aspects is crucial in understanding the whole picture of the UFO phenomena. How we go about studying the abduction aspect scientifically is, of course, both an important and difficult question to answer and solve. But all problems have a solution, do they not?

Last, I also agree with Richard Dolan when he in the mentioned segment (or shortly before or after that  3- 4 minute segment) of this episode, says that the more disturbing cases of encounters/abductions (not all cases of encounters/abductions are "dark and disturbing") could be a big reason for the official and formal denial on the significance of the UFO phenomena from the military and government.

And let us always remember that behind these intriguing and highly strange cases of abductions, and some of them are indeed "dark and disturbing," there are human beings who are traumatized by their experiences. It is ok to be fascinated by these extraordinary and inexplicable cases, but it is not ok to look at or treat the affected people as "cases." The human being is always more important than the abduction case itself. I hope the reader understands what I am trying to convey.

Why is the UFO phenomenon significant? Prof. McDonald probably had the best answer

Published by SpaceTimeForum on YouTube on May 19, 2014. "James McDonald explains UFO debunking." Duration: 1 min, 11 sec.

In a brief video clip, Professor James E. McDonald shares his thoughts on why the US government dismisses the scientific importance of UFOs.

This post about James E. McDonald aims to add another piece to the puzzle regarding the strange discrepancy between the overwhelming evidence supporting the reality of UFOs (the physical aspect) and the official denial by the government, military, and intelligence agencies of the UFO phenomenon's significance for national security and science.

Professor McDonald is one giant in the history of UFO-research. Anyone interested in finding out if there is anything important with the UFO phenomenon or not, has to study at least some of the work about the phenomenon by Prof. McDonald.

Explore the links below to learn about James E. McDonald's significant work on UFOs and its relevance still today.

Check out the University of Arizona Libraries link, as it contains McDonald's data on various UFO cases, correspondence with military officials, etc. By Arizona Archives Online under the heading "Scope and Content Note:"
Papers, 1904-1997 (bulk 1958-1971). Mostly correspondence, cases, reports, interviews, and printed materials relating to James E. McDonald's investigations, 1958 to 1971, into unidentified flying objects and similar sightings, and governmental investigations, responses and reports, including the United States Air Force's Project Blue Book, and Edward U. Condon's 1969 report, A Scientific Study of Unidentified Flying Objects, relating to these phenomenon. Correspondence, 1958-1971, is between McDonald and various government and military officials, other scientific and professional UFO researchers. Case files, 1945-1970, include investigations, mostly in the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, on sightings by military pilots, tower control officers, law enforcement officers, scientists and citizens.
Contains photocopies of approximately 580 Project Blue Book sighting reports, mostly by pilots, and some with airborne and ground radar verification. Also includes four handwritten journals, 1958-1971, describing UFO investigative activity; papers and talks, 1966-1977, given before conferences, symposia, and groups; research materials, including his 1967 trip to Australia and New Zealand; a referenced outline of an unpublished book; over 80 audio-tapes of interviews, talks, and conversations on UFO topics; photographic materials on various subjects; and supplemental materials.
Following said by James E. McDonald on page 5/12:
On the basis of my examination of the UFO problem during the past three years, I regard it as probably the outstanding scientific problem of the century. I believe the evidence clearly shows that Dr. Condon, like a number of other scientists who have previously had responsibilities in advising the Air Force on its task of sorting out the mysteries of the steady flow of UFO reports, really never opened his eyes to the significant evidence, never dug in and undertook the kind of extensive case-checking and witness-interviewing that leads one to see that in the UFO problem we are probably confronting a phenomenon of unprecedented scientific significance.

Jacques Vallée: The sociological and paranormal aspects of UFO

Published on YouTube by Paranormal Videos You may have Missed. June, 2017.
Ron Reagan Show: UFOs (September, 1991) Part 1.
Very rare two-part program from the short-lived TV talk show. Guests: Stanton Friedman, Philip Klass, Jacques Vallee, Buzz Aldrin, Bill Maxwell.

The YouTube video above represents a continuation of the theme about the strange discrepancy between the governments/militaries official standpoint that there is nothing to UFOs and their unofficial interest in and worry about the UFO issue.

Why cannot the government and military officially acknowledge the overwhelming amount of evidence for the reality of the UFO phenomenon (the physical aspect)?

Unfortunately, I am mainly referring to the government, military, and intelligence agencies in and of the United States of America. Of course, the USA is not the only nation suppressing information about the UFO phenomenon (henceforth "the phenomenon"). But there are nations more transparent with their interest in the phenomenon. For example, France; Spain; Chile; Brazil and others. Those nations even have state funded and public investigations of the UFO phenomenon.

Or perhaps we should reason as the living legend Jacques Vallée about the question "cover-up or not?" Vallée, at least as I understand his view on this question, seems to think that we should not focus on the question of a "cover-up or not." I think his reason for saying that is simply because he does not believe in a big cover-up or secrecy, or maybe because he thinks it is not productive in further our understanding of the phenomenon.

In the episode of the Ron Reagan Show above, Vallée enters the show around the 8:00 minutes mark. The people who are most active and dominate the discussion are another living legend, Stanton Friedman, and the late UFO skeptic, Philip J. Klass. The key question they are discussing and arguing about in the show is, "Are UFOs real or not (and what or where is the evidence)?" And the question of a cover-up or not.

By making a post about Jacques Vallée, I am going ahead of myself. For me, Vallée has made the biggest contribution to the field of ufology by looking at the UFO phenomenon from many perspectives and angels. Like his colleague and friend, Dr J. Allen Hynek, Vallée is a rare blend of a rigorous scientist and an open-minded seeker. A scientist and a seeker who is genuinely and intrinsically driven by a need to understand a phenomenon and come closer to the truth (whatever the truth may be).

Dr J. Allen Hynek: What did he think about the UFO phenomenon?

Published by Think Anomalous on YouTube, November 1, 2017. Duration: 12:45 min.

When J. Allen Hynek was first hired by the US Air Force to consult on their UFO research, he was reluctantly complicit in their debunking agenda. But as he investigated more and more baffling cases, he eventually changed his mind on the UFO question, and led the world in the effort to create a true science of UFOs.

Published by FindingUFO on YouTube, March 22, 2017. Duration: 16:03 min.

Tom Snyder's interview from the early 1980s, with J. Allen Hynek and attorney Peter Gersten, covers government cover-up(s) and details of some intriguing UFO sightings. Dr. Hynek explains what UFO researchers needed to do to explain the UFO phenomenon.
 J. Allen Hynek tells Snyder what researchers needed to do to ultimately explain the UFO phenomenon but all these years later his astute advice is still being ignored.

"The UFO phenomenon may teach us more about ourselves than it does about the outside universe," he told OMNI. "We don't know the answer, but there are several intriguing possibilities." But, true to form, he insisted that "The E.T. hypothesis is untenable," frustrating UFO believers right to the end while continuing to draw closer to the boundaries of science.

"Tales of the Hawk", Bruce Maccabee, PhD, presentation (2008)

Tales of the Hawk tells the story of a Retired Air Force Colonel who worked at the Air Technical Intelligence Center at Wright Patterson Air Force Base which has been confirmed as a depository for recovered crash debris of extraterrestrial origin. His story is about his own "cover up" experiences. Dr Macabbee is one of the original developers of the Strategic Defense Initiative (SDI) and was instrumental in establishing the Fund for UFO Research.
The X-Conference is pleased to welcome UFO Researcher and Physicist Bruce Maccabee, PhD.
The X-Conference is produced by X-PPAC (Extraterrestrial Phenomena Political Action Committee) and The Paradigm Research Group, who's mission is to educate Congress, the Press and the Public about the Government imposed "Truth Embargo" and to bring about formal acknowledgment by the U. S. Government of an Extraterrestrial presence engaging the Human Race - Full Disclosure. UFOTV is pleased to present what will be all of the presentations that were given by all the invited speakers at each of the X-Conference events. Stay tuned as we continue to upload further video coverage.
We apologize for the commercials during this online presentation. As stated on our main channel page, the advertising revenue from this program helps to cover the heavy production costs of putting on the yearly X-Conference event.

It is not confirmed that Wright Patterson Air Force Base is a "depository for recovered crash debris of extraterrestrial origin," as the first sentence in the quotation above says. And Bruce Maccabee, PhD, is not making such a claim in his presentation "Tales of the Hawk."

Maccabee's presentation is from 2008, and it starts at 2:40 minutes. I've previously mentioned to my Swedish readers that this blog has shifted its focus. It now explores government and military involvement, or lack thereof, in the UFO topic, instead of just the physical side of UFOs.The change in focus started with the first presentation by Bruce Maccabee, "SECURITY MATTER - X."

The physical aspect of the UFO phenomenon is validated. UFOs are real and therefore worth of rigorous and open scientific investigation, and serious coverage and discussion in the media. But no one knows or can prove that UFOs are extraterrestrial. At least no one from an official position and status has offered such evidence.

The aspect of government and military knowledge about and involvement in the UFO phenomenon is a much more complex issue to get to the truth of. There are a lot of myths, speculation, and conspiracy theories surrounding this aspect. Which the praised by critics and award-winning documentary Mirage Men portrays.

I believe a bizarre discrepancy exists between the robust evidence of the UFO phenomenon's physical nature and the US government and military's official denial.
I strongly believe that the U.S. military and intelligence know about UFOs, see them as a security risk, and are probably secretly investigating them.

But...
